As the gubernatorial Election is ongoing in Osun State, the incumbent Governor and Accord Party governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed dissatisfaction with preliminary reports reaching him from the ongoing governorship election process in the state.

Adeleke, this afternoon said he had received complaints of malfunctioning and slow Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) JC machines in several parts of the state.

According to him, the development was delaying voters who had turned out to exercise their franchise, urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to urgently address the technical challenges.

“People came out to vote, but the machine is slow. It is not working well. INEC should find a solution,” Adeleke said.

The governor also raised concerns over alleged voter intimidation in parts of Olorunda and Irewole Local Government Areas.

He alleged that some individuals were disrupting the voting process and expressed concern over the conduct of some security personnel.

Adeleke further alleged that some of his supporters were being chased away in Ikire and urged voters not to be intimidated.

“My advice is that my people should vote and defend their votes. Don’t be afraid. It is just for one day,” he said.

The allegations could not immediately be independently verified. Voting is ongoing across Osun State as voters elect the governor who will lead the state for the next four years.
