    Adeleke Maintains Strong Lead as INEC Finalizes Osun Governorship Results

    The 2026 Osun State governorship election, held yesterday, August 15, 2026, has concluded that the incumbent Governor, Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, declared the winner.

     

    The ​Voter Participations recorded by INEC shows a total of 1,005,800 valid votes cast, representing a turnout of approximately 43% of the 2,339,233 registered voters in the state.  


    The INEC Official figures indicate that 20,721 void ballots were rejected during the collation process. 


    According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Governor Adeleke secured re-election for a second term, polling a total of 511,067 votes evaluating 50.8%. His closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), received 444,815 votes scaling 44.2% and the third by rating, Najeem Salaam of ADC scored 17,180 1.7% . 


    The collation has been concluded and a winner has been declared, the commission continues to finalize the upload of polling unit results to the INEC IReV Portal for public review.  




    ​The Milestones Record of Accord Party (A) in Osun election marks the first time victory of the Accord Party to secured the governorship Victory in Osun State since the party's formation in 2006.
