In a major political realignment, scores of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts spanning eight Local Government Areas (LGAs) and the three senatorial districts of Ogun State have officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday 16, July 2026.

"It is with joy and a hearty welcome that I received these scores of Ogun PDP stalwarts into the APC and my political family. Their decision to join us after our consultative meeting reinforces our commitment to inclusive governance and the collective progress of Ogun State."
Political analysts suggest that this influx of opposition leaders—particularly key party executives and former legislative candidatesposes a severe blow to the PDP's structure in Ogun State ahead of future electoral cycles, while further consolidating the APC’s dominance across the three senatorial zones.
