In a strategic bid to enhance public safety, deepen community partnership, and strengthen operational synergy, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has concluded an extensive familiarization tour of the Ifo axis.
The Ogun State police command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Oluseyi B. Abaseyi, anipr made this known on X page that the tour featured high-level engagements with traditional rulers, local government authorities, sister security agencies, community leaders, and police personnel, all aimed at sustaining peace and driving crime out of the state.
CP Ojajuni commenced the tour with a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Olunla Agbodere Kinni and Olu of Itori, HRM Oba Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo, who warmly received the police chief alongside his Chiefs-in-Council.
The Monarch highly commended the Commissioner’s leadership style, noting that his administration has successfully built upon the foundations laid by his predecessors.
"Because of your proactive leadership, our citizens can sleep at night with their two eyes closed," the Monarch remarked.
Responding, CP Bode Ojajuni expressed deep gratitude to the royal father for his steadfast support of officers in the area and highlighted the operational dividends of Operation Kosaye. He assured the traditional institution that the Command would sustain its intelligence-led approach, while appealing for continuous royal partnership in gathering localized intelligence.
The CP subsequently paid royal homage to the Palace of the Olorile of Orile Ifo, HRM Oba Abdul Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi. The traditional ruler wittily appreciated the CP for the "August visit in July" and praised his strategic foresight. The Kabiyesi reaffirmed the absolute commitment of his domain to supporting the Nigeria Police Force and sister security agencies in preserving law and order to foster economic growth.
The tour culminated at the Ifo Area Command Headquarters, where the Commissioner was formally received by the Area Commander, ACP Williams Oluwaseyi, alongside officers and men of the Command.
The visit featured a major stakeholders' town hall meeting, which brought together key actors, including: Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo, Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Comrade Abdullah Lawal, State Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC).
Representatives of sister security agencies, including the DSS, NSCDC, FRSC, So-Safe Corps, Forest Guards, and the Ogun State Alternate Medicine Board.
Addressing the robust gathering, CP Bode Ojajuni applauded the high level of inter-agency cooperation within the axis. He noted that despite the vastness of Ifo, security challenges are being effectively neutralized through synergy.
"Ogun State remains hostile territory for criminals. The Command will continue to deny them any operating space within the state and along our borders. Security is a shared responsibility, and we need every resident to play their part."
During the engagement, the CP introduced stakeholders to the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), following a sensitization session by the State Coordinator, ASP Oluborode Opeyemi. POCACOV stands as the Nigeria Police Force's flagship non-kinetic crime prevention initiative.
Furthermore, the CP encouraged residents to maximize the Gateway Shield digital platform by promptly reporting suspicious activities, assuring them that every credible piece of information would be treated with the utmost confidentiality and acted upon swiftly.
In a targeted charge to the officers and men of the Ifo Area Command, CP Ojajuni explicitly enjoined them to remain good ambassadors of the force by maintaining the highest level of discipline and professionalism.
In his response, the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo, expressed deep appreciation for the peace being enjoyed in Ifo. He pledged the unwavering, continuous support of the local government to the Command and urged the officers not to relent in their efforts.
CP Bode Ojajuni concluded by reaffirming that the Ogun State Police Command remains resolute in its mission to strengthen intelligence-led operations, deepen community partnerships, and proactively protect lives and investments across the state.
