The Convener of the Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM), Armstrong ‘Tope Akintunde, has extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful across Ogun State and Nigeria as they celebrate the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir festival, calling for prayers, unity and continued support for the governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election.
In a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday, Akintunde described Eid-el-Kabir as a season that reflects the values of sacrifice, compassion, peace and collective responsibility toward nation-building.
According to him, the celebration offers Nigerians another opportunity to renew their commitment to unity, peaceful coexistence and the development of society.
“This is another joyous occasion for Muslims and indeed all Nigerians to celebrate the virtues of sacrifice, love and togetherness as exemplified by the Eid-el-Kabir festival. May the blessings of the season bring peace, happiness and prosperity to our homes, communities and the nation,” Akintunde stated.
The YPM Convener urged Muslim faithful across Ogun State to continue praying for the peace and progress of the state while also supporting Senator Adeola’s governorship aspiration, which he described as a mission driven by visionary leadership and commitment to sustainable development.
He noted that Senator Adeola possesses the experience, capacity and leadership qualities needed to consolidate on developmental strides and advance the socio-economic growth of Ogun State.
“I want to specially appeal to our Muslim brothers and sisters and all progressive-minded citizens to continue supporting and praying for the success of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) ahead of the 2027 governorship election. His leadership vision remains crucial to the continued growth and transformation of Ogun State,” he added.
Akintunde further emphasized the need for unity among members and supporters of the Yayi Progressives Movement, stressing that teamwork, dedication and grassroots participation would play a vital role in achieving the movement’s political objectives ahead of the next general elections.
According to him, the movement remains committed to promoting grassroots mobilisation, youth empowerment and inclusive political participation across communities in Ogun State.
“This celebration should remind us that we are united by a common goal of building a better Ogun State. Through collective strength, unity and commitment, we will continue to advance progressive ideals and support leadership that prioritises the welfare and aspirations of the people,” he said.
He also reaffirmed that the Yayi Progressives Movement would sustain its statewide mobilisation and engagement efforts ahead of the 2027 elections, while continuing to advocate democratic participation, social inclusion and community development.
Akintunde noted that the movement has continued to gain recognition across various communities through its grassroots activities, promotion of progressive values and support for what he described as purposeful and people-oriented leadership.
The Yayi Progressives Movement is regarded as one of the prominent grassroots political support groups backing the governorship ambition of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
