The All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election across the 36 wards in the Ijebu Central Federal Constituency for the House of Representatives seat commenced around 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, with the accreditation of party members at designated ward centres.

The exercise, conducted under the supervision of electoral officials, witnessed the early arrival of party faithful across the constituency for voter registration and accreditation. Eligible members were accredited using their APC registration documents and voter cards before participating in the voting process.

Party stakeholders described the emergence of Hon. Rasaq Daddah as the outcome of extensive consultations and internal party arrangements, noting that his candidacy received the backing of influential leaders within the party as well as the endorsement of the incumbent governor. Hon. Daddah was subsequently announced as the APC consensus candidate at various ward centres.

Ratification of Consensus  Candidate was conducted manually across the wards, while election officials supervised the collation and counting of votes at the respective centres. Although the exercise was largely peaceful and orderly, some party members openly expressed support for another aspirant, popularly known as BHO, insisting he remained their preferred candidate.

However, many members eventually aligned with the party’s position in adherence to party supremacy.

At the conclusion of the exercise, electoral officials declared Hon. Rasaq Daddah winner after he secured the highest number of votes across the wards.

His victory officially confirms him as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer for the Ijebu Central Federal Constituency House of Representatives election.
