The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has announced the senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, as its consensus governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The decision was reached on Monday during a strategic caucus meeting held at the party secretariat in Abeokuta.
The meeting was presided over by the state party chairman and had in attendance top party leaders, including the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, and his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele.
Also present were former governors Olusegun Osoba, Ibikunle Amosun, and Gbenga Daniel; former deputy governors Gbenga Kaka and Alhaja Salmot Badru; and former senator Iyabo Anisulowo.
Members of the House of Representatives, including Olumide Osoba, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, Abiodun Akinlade, alongside other federal and state lawmakers, party executives, and key stakeholders, were also in attendance.
The endorsement has since sparked widespread jubilation among supporters and political loyalists of Senator Adeola, popularly known as “Yayi,” with many describing the development as a significant step toward the 2027 governorship race in the state.
