    Ogun 2027: Adeola’s YAYI Bid Gains Momentum as YPM Injects N1bn, Unveils 27 Campaign Buses Pledges Massive Votes for Tinubu

    A political support group in Ogun State, Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM), across Ogun State and prominent leaders gathers at Ake Palace, Pavilion in Abeokuta, Ogun State to  intensified preparations for the 2027 presidential, governorship and senatorial election with a N1 billion donation and the unveiling of 27 branded campaign buses in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Senator Solomon Adeola YAYI and Consensus Senator Prince Dapo Abiodun's ambition yesterday 3rd April, 2027.


     The formal inauguration of the Yayi Progressive Movement attracted a large turnout of party faithfuls, stakeholders, and political leaders from across the State Executive Council led by Hon. Olusegun Kaka, noted that the group is equally dedicated to securing overwhelming support for Senator Solomon Adeola YAYI as Ogun State Governor President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid. 


    Armstrong Akintunde, the Convener of the movement, stated that the financial contributions, deployment of campaign vehicles are aimed at strengthening logistics and enhancing grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections. He reaffirmed the group’s commitment to ensuring that Senator Adeola, widely known as Yayi, emerges as Ogun State governor under the APC platform, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu runs second term and Governor Dapo Abiodun becomes the the next Ogun East Senator.


    He expressed confidence that Ogun State would deliver the highest number of votes for the President across the South-West, attributing this optimism to growing cohesion among party leaders and the effectiveness of grassroots structures.




    “This initiative transcends individual ambition; it is focused on advancing the collective future of Ogun State. Senator Adeola represents competence, continuity, and a strong legislative pedigree. Our support is anchored on firm confidence in his leadership,” Akintunde said.


    Providing insight into the group’s evolution, Akintunde explained that developed through successive phases from DACA to Omoluabi before emerging in its current form, reflecting its resilience and sustained commitment to political mobilisation.





    In his remarks, the State Coordinator, Hon. Olusegun Kaka, described the inauguration as a significant milestone, symbolising unity, shared purpose, and a coordinated drive toward electoral success. He urged members to remain committed to the vision and objectives of the movement.


    The event was attended by notable figures, including former Deputy Governor Senator Adegbenga Kaka; Senator Gbenga Obadara; Senator Iyabo Anisulowo; Professor Abayomi Arigbabu; Engr. Ade Akinsanya; Chief Waliu Taiwo; Hon. Kehinde Odeneye; and businessman Ibrahim Egungbohun Dende, among others.


    The development underscores an early but robust build-up to what is expected to be a highly competitive 2027 governorship race in Ogun State, with the APC consolidating its structures and mobilising significant resources ahead of the polls.
