A separate faction of the African Democratic Congress, led by Nafiu Bala, staged a protest on Thursday at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
During the demonstration, the group urged the faction associated with David Mark, Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso to stay out of the party’s internal affairs.
Nafiu Bala was joined by Leke Abejide, a member of the House of Representatives from Kogi State.
The protesters called on INEC to comply fully with a recent court ruling and uphold the “status quo ante bellum” in recognising the party’s leadership.
They also chanted slogans emphasising respect for judicial decisions and the need for transparency in the electoral process.
