The Ogun State House of Assembly, through its Committee on Public Accounts and Anti-Corruption, has continued the consideration of the 2024 Auditor-General’s Report on State Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), as part of its statutory oversight to ensure accountability and transparency in the management of public funds.
The committee, chaired by Damilare Bello, examined the report during a session held at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
While reviewing the audit report of the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, the committee directed the ministry’s management, led by the Commissioner, Ade Akinsanya, to submit comprehensive supporting documents and contract files relating to all roads and bridges constructed within the period under review.
The lawmakers also requested the ministry to present relevant documentation on the state Airport Project and reconcile its records in accordance with observations raised in the Auditor-General’s report.
Similarly, the State Ministry of Health appeared before the committee for consideration of its audit report. The ministry, led by the Permanent Secretary, Kayode Oladehinde, was directed to submit its fixed asset register alongside supporting documents on the Save One Million Lives Project.
In the same vein, the State Building Production Management Authority, represented by its Acting General Manager, Titilayo Oladogbon, and the State Broadcasting Corporation, led by the Deputy General Manager, Programme Services, Gbenga Omotunde, also appeared before the committee for the review of their respective audit reports.
The committee reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring prudent utilisation of public resources, noting that the ongoing exercise was aimed at strengthening financial discipline, transparency, and good governance across all state institutions.
