... an Outcry in the Interest of Ijebuland and Posterity.

As the process of selecting a new Awujale begins, it is imperative that the choice reflects the highest ideals of Ijebuland. The Awujale stool is not merely a symbol of royalty; it is the moral, cultural, and developmental compass of the Ijebu people.

For the sake of our future generations, the following principles must guide the selection process:I jebuland Paramount Rulers integrity speaks volumes. The Regent Council ( King Makers) must not enthrone a monarch whose wealth is questionable. The Awujale must be a person of transparent means, honourable character, and unquestionable integrity one who will never bring the throne into disrepute.

The Awujale throne must remain above partisan politics and insulated from political opportunism or instability, it must embody dignity and restraint. While he may hold personal political views.

The Paramount Ruler is a Custodian of Ijebu Culture and Traditions: Ijebu festivals such as Agemo, Leguru, and others are sacred pillars of our identity. Regardless of personal religious beliefs, the Awujale must protect, preserve, and promote Ijebu culture—not undermine or suppress it.

The Awujale must be a Catalyst for Genuine Economic Development, Ijebuland needs sustainable economic growth. Beyond filling stations, hotels, and lounges, we require industries, major investments, and employment-generating ventures. The Awujale must leverage his influence and networks to drive real economic transformation.

Ojude Oba beyond Celebration. It should transcend pageantry. It must be strategically positioned as a global platform for tourism, investment, and international visibility for Ijebu land.

We reject any monarch who would appropriate community lands under the pretext that “the land belongs to the throne.” The Awujale must be a protector, Not a Predator of communal heritage.

The Awujale must never be Independence from Political Control to run errand or be a puppet of any party or politician. The throne must remain neutral, respected, and independent.

The Paramount Ruler must be Respect Locally and Internationally. We want a king whose conduct, speech, and leadership command respect both at home and across the world.

At all times, the Awujale must uphold the honour, prestige, Dignity and moral authority of the royal institution.

The Awujale stool belongs to all Ijebu sons and daughters, not to a privileged few. All voices must be heard, and all opinions respected, in shaping the future of our throne.

The choice before us is historic. Let us choose wisely, for the soul, dignity, and destiny of Ijebuland.
