Tension is reportedly escalating within the Fusegbuwa Ruling House as the Oduneye (Eruobodo) version of the Jadiara family has raised alarm over what it describes as deliberate sidelining from the recent nomination of candidates exercise.

The group alleged that it was denied access to the nomination exercise held on Monday, 12 January 2026, at the Bisi Rodipe Hall. According to the faction, the exclusion was carried out under the leadership of the Chairman, Otunba Owoyemi; the Deputy Chairman, Chief Ajidagba; and the Vice Chairman, Chief Professor Fassy Yussuf, all of the Fusegbuwa Ruling House.

Speaking during a press interview, the spokesperson of the Oduneye (Eruobodo–Jadiara) faction, Prince Adeyemo Ridwan Oduneye, expressed dissatisfaction with the development, describing it as an act capable of igniting further crisis within the ruling house.

When asked by journalists why the group did not seek redress prior to the nomination exercise, Prince Oduneye responded that their faction had been intentionally sidelined as a result of what he described as “perpetrated actions aimed at achieving predetermined goals.”

He warned that continued exclusion and lack of fairness in the process could further inflame tensions within the Fusegbuwa Ruling House, calling for transparency, inclusiveness, and adherence to established traditions in resolving the matter.
