In a dramatic turn in the Osun State governorship contest, seven All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirants have withdrawn from the race to support Bola Oyebamiji as the party’s consensus candidate ahead of the forthcoming primary election.
The decision followed a strategic meeting convened by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa. Notably absent was aspirant Iyiola Omisore, who boycotted the meeting after earlier describing his disqualification from the race as “a joke.”
Those who stepped down for Oyebamiji include former Deputy Governor Benedict Olugboyega Alabi, Dotun Babayemi, Akin Ogunbiyi, Senator Babajide Omoworare, Kunle Adegoke (SAN), Babatunde Haketer Oralusi, and Mulikat Abiola Jimoh.
