The Fusengbuwa Ruling House, next in line to produce the Awujale following the July 2025 death of Oba Sikiru Adetona at 91, had planned to hold its nomination meeting on Monday, December 15, 2025.
The government’s action aims to avert potential procedural lapses that could trigger legal challenges, ensuring the succession process proceeds in line with established protocols.
Officials confirmed that the postponement is temporary and that a revised schedule for the nomination meeting will be communicated once compliance with procedural requirements is verified.
