No fewer than 1,350 households of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State have benefitted from a total cash intervention of ₦101.25 million under the Federal Government’s Household Prosperity and Empowerment – Cash Transfer (HOPE-CT) programme, as the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR gains momentum in the Local Government Area.
The Ogun State Programme Manager of the State Cash Transfer Unit, Mr. Damilola Owoojuona, made this revelation during the distribution exercise, at the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Secretariat, Ota, marking another milestone in the commitment of the Federal Government’s plan to reduce poverty, enable social protection and financial empowerment of low-income Nigerians.
He described the initiative as a strategic intervention designed to provide direct financial support to vulnerable citizens and strengthen households’ resilience against prevailing economic challenges, adding that the beneficiaries, drawn from the National Social Register, have started receiving debit cards through which the Federal Government would disburse the funds in tranches under the social investment programme aimed at improving the living conditions of vulnerable households and promoting economic inclusion.
