The immediate past Chief of Staff to the Ogun State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Oluwatoyin Taiwo, has achieved another major academic milestone after earning his second doctoral degree at the 2026 Doctoral Hooding and Convocation Ceremony of Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo.

Dr. Taiwo, a seasoned administrator and the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for the Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency, was among the 183 PhD candidates formally hooded during the colorful ceremony. This latest Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree complements his earlier doctorate in Organizational Management from the Republic of Benin.

Speaking at the event, Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, commended Babcock University for its unwavering commitment to academic excellence and moral integrity.

"Competence without character is dangerous to humanity. The true measure of education lies not merely in what graduates know, but in how they apply that knowledge for the benefit of society."

Governor Abiodun underscored his administration's ongoing efforts to revitalize the state’s education sector through strategic programs:

Ogun REHAB Initiative: Transforming public school infrastructure across the state to create conducive learning environments.

Ogun-Teach Scheme: Employing over 6,000 teachers to raise instructional quality across all learning levels.

Earlier in the ceremony, the President and Vice-Chancellor of Babcock University, Prof. Afolarin Olatunde Oyewole, highlighted the institution's continued contributions to Ogun State and the broader nation through robust infrastructure and human capital development.

Prof. Oyewole reaffirmed the university's mission to train globally competitive graduates equipped with the knowledge, discipline, and moral standing required to solve complex societal challenges. He revealed that over 2,000 postgraduate students and 183 PhD candidates completed their respective programs during the academic session.

Reflecting on his achievement shortly after the hooding ceremony, Dr. Taiwo expressed deep gratitude to Almighty God for the strength to complete the rigorous academic program. He also extended sincere appreciation to Governor Abiodun for his mentorship and unwavering support throughout the journey.

This latest achievement further consolidates Dr. Taiwo’s standing as a dedicated public servant committed to lifelong learning, intellectual rigor, and visionary leadership.
