The National Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Friday in Abuja screened and cleared Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
The screening exercise took place at the Kaduna Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, under the leadership of Dr. Obi Okoye-led APC Governorship Screening Committee.
Members of the committee, including Hon. Durosimi Meseko, APC National Deputy Publicity Secretary, Mr. Abdullahi Dayo Israel, APC National Youth Leader, and Hon. Tolu Bankole, reportedly commended Senator Adeola for his developmental initiatives in governance and contributions to the growth of the ruling party.
Speaking after the exercise, Senator Adeola pledged to sustain his developmental programmes and continue supporting the ideals and reform-driven agenda of the APC.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the progress of Ogun State and the advancement of the party’s national objectives.
The senator was accompanied to the screening venue by a strong delegation of political associates, government officials and supporters from Ogun State and Abuja.
Among those in attendance were the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele; Hon. Kayode Amusan; Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat (GACO), Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Hon. Olabimtan, Commissioner for Budget and Planning; Hon. Kunle Adeyemi; Hon. Babatunde Adejare; Hon. Otun Kope; Hon. Kolawole Moboluwaduro (KLM); Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele; Hon. Lai Taiwo, alongside other top government officials and party loyalists.
The development is seen by political observers as a major step in the build-up to the 2027 governorship race in Ogun State.
