Okubadejo Family Hosts Annual Ramadan Tafsir, Commissions Reconstructed Mosque in Ijebu-Ode
The annual Ramadan Tafsir and special prayers organised in memory of the late Alhaji Musliudeen and Alhaja Munirat Okubadejo held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at the Government Technical College, Ijebu-Ode, drawing a large gathering of Islamic scholars, political leaders and community stakeholders.
The event also featured the commissioning of the reconstructed Central Mosque of the college, a project facilitated by the Idera Pathfinders Foundation, a philanthropic organisation jointly owned by Otunba Oladapo Okubadejo and Yeye Otunba Olufunke Okubadejo.
The gathering attracted several prominent dignitaries and Islamic clerics, including the Grand Chief Imam of Ijebu Land, Sheikh Ayanbadejo, the Chief Missioner of Ansar‑Ud‑Deen Society of Nigeria in Ijebu Land, and the Consultant to the Ogun State Governor on Islamic Affairs, Sheikh Iskeel Lawal Sugar. Several Imams, Alfas and Islamic scholars from across the region also attended the event.
The guest lecturer, Dr. Sodiq Oyekolade of the Tai Solarin University of Education, delivered a lecture highlighting the spiritual significance of Ramadan and the importance of community service, charity and moral discipline among Muslims.
Speaking at the event, the organisers noted that the reconstructed mosque project forms part of the foundation’s broader commitment to community development and religious harmony.
The Idera Pathfinders Foundation is described as a non-political, non-religious and non-governmental organisation established to promote socio-economic development and human capital advancement through targeted interventions in education, small and micro enterprises, and healthcare.
According to its founders, the foundation focuses particularly on supporting indigent, poor and vulnerable communities while promoting initiatives that bring peace, comfort and prosperity to society.
They added that the foundation’s vision is to serve as a transformative platform dedicated to improving lives and strengthening communities through sustainable development programmes.
