Senator Gbenga Daniel has launched the BATOGD Digital Change Makers initiative, a youth-focused programme aimed at equipping young people in Ogun East Senatorial District with in-demand digital skills.

The initiative, organised in collaboration with the National Productivity Centre under the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, featured a comprehensive training programme on data automation, digital presence, and project management.

The training brought together youths and students from across Ogun East, with a focus on preparing them for opportunities in an increasingly technology-driven global economy. Participants were exposed to practical knowledge in data automation, digital tools, online branding, and effective communication strategies.

Speaking on the initiative, Daniel emphasised the importance of empowering young people with relevant skills to enhance productivity, innovation, and self-reliance. He noted that as digital transformation continues to shape economies worldwide, equipping youths with such competencies is critical to national development.

The programme also aimed to improve participants’ employability while encouraging entrepreneurship and creativity. Organisers said the initiative would help bridge the gap between local talent and global opportunities by enabling participants to leverage digital tools for economic advancement

Beyond technical training, the BATOGD Digital Change Makers initiative seeks to instill a mindset of innovation and problem-solving among participants. Youths were encouraged to see themselves as agents of change capable of using technology to address societal challenges and drive positive transformation within their communities.

The training marks a significant step in ongoing efforts to position Ogun East youths for the future of work in a fast-evolving digital landscape.
