The National Coordinator of the Tinubu National Think-Tank (TNT), Ambassador Dr. Adewale Adeogun, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to campaigning for the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, declaring that his support is rooted in a long-standing personal relationship rather than the agenda of any support group.

Adeogun made the remark during a strategic engagement with the leadership of the Tinubu National Think-Tank (TNT), according to a statement issued by Comrade Lamidi Olalekan, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the TNT National Coordinator.

Speaking during the interaction, Adeogun emphasized that even if the entire nation were to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) endorsing Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election, he would still continue his campaign efforts for the President’s second term.

According to him, the recent wave of political defections into the All Progressives Congress (APC) may give the impression that victory in 2027 is assured for President Tinubu, but sustained grassroots mobilisation and strategic engagement remain necessary.

Adeogun, who also serves as the Deputy Director-General (Southwest) of the APC Support Groups Council, noted that the current political alignment across the country has significantly strengthened Tinubu’s prospects.

He stated that about 33 state governors and their political structuresfrom the polling units to the national level have reportedly pledged support for the President’s re-election bid. He also claimed that 82 out of the 109 members of the Nigerian Senate, along with about 250 members of the House of Representatives (Nigeria), have indicated readiness to back Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

While describing the development as encouraging, Adeogun cautioned TNT leaders against complacency, urging them to intensify consultations and political mobilisation across the country.

He advised the group’s leadership to remain focused and not be distracted by the increasing number of defections into the ruling party, stressing that diligent and sustained efforts would be required to consolidate support ahead of the 2027 polls.
