The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday appointed seasoned journalist Mr. Abimbola Tooki as Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy to the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda.

The party said the appointment reflects Chairman Yilwatda’s confidence in Tooki’s “vast experience, professional pedigree, and proven capacity to deploy strategic communication in strengthening party cohesion and public engagement.”

Commenting on his appointment, Tooki expressed honour at the trust placed in him, stating, “I look forward to contributing my experience in journalism and media strategy to strengthen the party’s communication and public interface.”

A veteran media strategist, Tooki previously served as Editor of BusinessWorld Newspaper, overseeing editorial direction, production, and corporate management. He also gained recognition at Financial Standard for his leadership and professional excellence.

Tooki is a familiar voice on broadcast platforms, including Channels Television, providing insights on public policy and national affairs.

Academically, he holds an MBA from Obafemi Awolowo University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, and a Bachelor’s degree in Language Arts from the University of Ilorin.

He emphasised the importance of effective communication in bridging the gap between the party and Nigerians, adding that strategic media engagement is central to ensuring the APC’s vision and policies are clearly understood.

The APC congratulated Tooki and wished him success, noting his wealth of experience, energy, and professionalism would support the Chairman and the party at large.
